Skystra specializes in fast-performing WordPress hosting with quick support.

Having reviewed over dozens of website hosting companies in the past few years, now comes the time to review Skystra Cloud. There’s a lot of value in Skystra’s web services and plans, and our review will offer our take on if Skystra is the right hosting provider for you.

In this review, we will cover Skystra’s web hosting plans, user interface, hosting platform, reliability, and its renowned 24×7 customer service. As with any company and service we review, we put them through a whole array of tests and publish the results for you to see. Hopefully, this makes your website hosting decision easy.

Plans and pricing

Skystra offers a range of services, enabling you to host almost any app on its infrastructure. Regarding pricing, Skystra is unique in the hosting industry because you don’t need to sign a long contract to get fair upfront pricing.  Additionally, there is no renewal pricing, meaning you will always pay the price listed on the website, and there are no hidden charges.

Skystra WordPress Hosting plans provide a ton of value and features.

There are 3 plan types: Start, Plus (Recommended), and Pro.

Start – $4.95 per month

  • 1 WordPress website
  • 10 GB SSD storage
  • 1.5 CPU cores
  • 1.5 GB of memory

Plus (Recommended) – $6.95 per month

  • 100 WordPress websites
  • 20 GB SSD storage
  • 2 CPU cores
  • 2 GB of memory

Pro – $9.95 per month

  • Unlimited WordPress websites
  • 40 GB SSD storage
  • 3 CPU cores
  • 4 GB of memory

The WordPress Start plan is a solid choice if you have 1 website. It comes with 10GB of storage, which is more than enough for most websites. It also includes a free SSL certificate and free email bundled in, which is becoming a rarity in the hosting market.

WordPress Plus (Recommended) is the plan we most recommend. This is the right plan for you if you have multiple WordPress websites or need more storage and bandwidth. At $6.95 per month, this budget-friendly plan packs a ton of value.

WordPress Pro is Skystra’s highest-tiered WordPress plan. Priced at $9.95 per month, it comes with many more resources, so your busy websites will have room to grow.

As a nice free addon, Skystra provides WP-CLI bundled into all plans for free, allowing for easier management and maintenance of your WordPress website.

All of Skystra’s WordPress hosting plans come with free SSL certificates, free integration with all CDN providers, a free website migration, 24×7 customer service, and technical support. On that last note, Skystra’s support folks are true WordPress experts. We’ll cover more on that below.

Skystra Website hosting

Skystra Website hosting plans

Like their WordPress hosting plans, Skystra’s Website hosting plans have three types: Start, Plus (Recommended), and Pro.

Start – $4.95 per month

  • 1 website
  • 10 GB SSD storage
  • 1.5 CPU Cores
  • 1.5 GB of memory

Plus (Recommended) – $6.95 per month

  • 100 websites
  • 20 GB SSD storage
  • 2 CPU Cores
  • 2 GB of memory

Pro – $9.95 per month

  • Unlimited websites
  • 40 GB SSD storage
  • 3 CPU Cores
  • 4 GB of memory

The Website Start plan is an extremely affordable way to host your website and email, as it offers 1 website, unlimited email accounts, tons of useful PHP scripts to install (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Laravel, OpenCart, etc.), and plenty of resources for just $4.95 a month.

Our top pick is the Website Plus (Recommended) package, though. If you require additional storage and extra traffic, or if you run many different sites, this is the plan for you. This package is great for those watching their wallets, as it costs just $6.95 a month but offers a wealth of features.

The Website plan with the most features and capabilities offered by Skystra is called Website Pro. It costs $9.95 per month and includes many additional resources, giving your busy websites room to develop.

The biggest difference between these plans is the number of websites you can host on them and the resources you can use (storage, CPU, memory, etc.). Otherwise, like with all Skystra offerings, all plans share some great features, such as a 7-day trial, free website migration, free SSL certificates, free CDN integration, automated software updates, and 24×7 customer support, to mention a few.

Skystra Ecommerce hosting

For $4.95 per month, host your Ecommerce website with Skystra. Free SSL and the free trial included.

Skystra Ecommerce plans are also handily segmented into three categories: Start, Plus (Recommended), and Pro.

Start – $4.95 per month

  • 1 Online store
  • 10 GB SSD storage
  • 1.5 CPU Cores
  • 1.5 GB of memory

Plus (Recommended) – $6.95 per month

  • 100 Online stores
  • 20 GB SSD storage
  • 2 CPU Cores
  • 2 GB of memory

Pro – $9.95 per month

  • Unlimited Online stores
  • 40 GB SSD storage
  • 3 CPU Cores
  • 4 GB of memory

We suggest going for the Plus plan as it offers the most value for your money, but if you only require hosting for one online store, the Start package is a fantastic option at a low price of $4.95. On the other hand, the Pro plan is available if you need any more server resources.

All Skystra Ecommerce plans offer a 7-day free trial, WooCommerce optimizations, Ecommerce app integrations, multiple Ecommerce apps (WooCommerce, PrestaShop, OpenCart, AbanteCart, Zen Cart, ShopSite, etc.), free SSL certificates, free website migration, unlimited professional email, and unlimited products for your stores.

Skystra Grid hosting

For $66 per month, host your website with Skystra and use your own dedicated resources. Free SSL and the free website migration included.
Skystra Grid plans

Special Offer for our readers. Use coupon code “switch” with Skystra and get 3 FREE months!

There are three Skystra Grid hosting plans available:

Start – $66 per month

  • 100 GB SSD storage
  • 4 CPU Cores
  • 8 GB of memory

Plus – $91 per month

  • 200 GB SSD storage
  • 6 CPU Cores
  • 12 GB of memory

Pro – $116 per month

  • 300 GB SSD storage
  • 8 CPU Cores
  • 16 GB of memory

Skystra offers an exceptional service in the form of Grid hosting, which is highly regarded for its value, speed, and reliability. This hosting plan is a top-tier option for those seeking an efficient and effective solution for their websites that require dedicated resources.

This means that each of the Grid plans offers your own private server resources that aren’t shared with any other websites on the platform. If you have a busy website that needs to be operational at all times – we recommend checking the Grid plans.

There are no limitations on how many websites you can host on a Grid plan, and as per usual, you receive free website migration, unlimited email accounts, free CDN integration, free SSL certificates, etc.

Core features

Skystra provides a free WordPress migration on all new hosting accounts.

Starting at just $4.95 per month, the amount of features and performance Skystra gives is just astounding value. There are a lot of services offered for free that nearly all other hosting providers we tested charged us for, namely free SSL certificates and included website migrations.

All Skystra plans offer free SSL certificates, free website migrations (including email migrations!), and access to really solid WordPress experts, if you ever need any help. And nearly all plans include a hefty amount of storage, so you don’t need to start counting the amount of data your website or emails use.

If you have an existing website, Skystra’s website migration team will contact you once you sign up, get some details, and perform the website migration. During our tests, we deliberately broke one of our WordPress installations to see if they’d catch it. Surprisingly, they did. They seem to test every website before letting you know when the migration is completed.

Their attention to detail and status updates during the migration really impressed us. It’s always a nice feeling knowing your data is in good hands.

The website migration for new hosting accounts is free, so you won’t pay anything extra when moving from a different hosting company. Usually, companies charge for this, so the fact that they do it for free is a huge bonus in terms of money and ease of getting started.

The most important aspect, though, is the fact that there is no fishy renewal pricing. The majority of bigger hosting companies offer one lower price for a set period of time and then increase the price (sometimes 2-3x times!) when it comes time for renewal. Skystra does none of that, and that’s a clear win in my book.

Interface

All Skystra plans also come with cPanel, the web hosting industry’s leader in interface and website management features.

Control panel in action

Skystra uses web hosting industry-leader cPanel as their website management control panel.
Skystra uses web hosting industry leader cPanel as their website management control panel.

Skystra’s cPanel implementation is nice, clean, and intuitive. At the very top, you’ll find email management for your email inboxes, forwarders, autoresponders, filters, and even spam filters. Below are tools to manage your website files, databases, and data backups.

There are many other tools in cPanel, such as website visitor tracking, detailed analytics, domain management, a DNS zone manager, and more.

WordPress Manager

To manage your WordPress-powered website, Skystra provides a handy WordPress Manager. It provides a clean and straightforward interface for managing WordPress.

Skystra’s intuitive WordPress Manager provides advanced WordPress management tools.

On the Skystra WordPress Manager, you can access single sign-on for all your WordPress installations. In addition, you get advanced WordPress tools such as staging, cloning, backups, and restores.

You can also set up automatic updates for your WordPress core, plugins, and themes with 1-click.

Support options and quality

Skystra’s Help Center has many useful articles, tutorials, and how-to guides.

When it comes to technology, customer service is what matters most. And this is the one section of our review that our tests focused heavily on. We contacted Skystra’s support team 10 times in a 30-day period.

The shortest time we waited for a reply via their HelpDesk was 3 minutes. The longest was 37 minutes. Those are great averages no matter how you put it, especially since most companies will take hours or days to get back to you. However, it appeared something was going on, so after the review was concluded, I contacted Skystra and asked about how they achieved such quick reply times and why it varied.

Their senior Support Manager got back to me. He explained how they apply one simple trick: Triage. If your website is down, they’ll get back to you incredibly quickly with a solution and fix. If it’s just a general question, you’ll usually hear back in 15-20 minutes, sometimes a bit longer.

This makes a lot of sense, and I wish other website hosting providers would copy this.

My experience with Skystra’s support team was excellent, one of the best I’ve come across in any industry. And it is the biggest reason Skystra ranks so high on our list.

Customer service matters. Skystra’s team understands this.

The competition

Skystra is an excellent provider, with their pricing right at the intersection of providing solid value and features for the price. There are cheaper alternatives, and depending on what you need, other web hosts could provide a good option for you.

Bluehost is a very old hosting provider that’s been in the industry since the very beginning. With cheap pricing starting at $2.75 per month, this company knows how to give a deal. Free SSL certificates and CDN are included in most plans. The only catch is that their pricing requires a 3-year contract to get a low monthly price.

Read our full Bluehost review to learn more about Bluehost.

Another solid alternative is HostGator, with plans starting off at $2.75 per month for shared hosting and a website builder (for the ultra beginners) available for only $3.84 per month. All of HostGator’s plans come with a free SSL certificate, a free domain for the first year, and 24×7 live support.

Read our full HostGator review to learn more about HostGator.

Final verdict

Skystra offers amazing value for the price you pay. Starting at $4.95 per month, they aren’t the cheapest; however, our tests proved they are the most capable hosting company that is budget-friendly, surpassing the performance and support you get with enterprise-level companies.

The fact that they include everything you need to get your website started at a fair price without a long-term contract puts them at the top of our rankings. Where they completely surpass all competition is their customer service.

We put Skystra’s support team through some very tough questions, and they successfully passed all of our tests and questions. Never underestimate how important a competent support team is for your website hosting service.

We highly recommend Skystra for your website. They currently rank #1 on our Best WordPress Hosting rankings for 2022.
