Buying jeans has always been one of my least favorite errands (especially given how much I enjoy retail therapy in general). As a tall woman, I can attest to the difficulty of shopping for jeans or any other type of pants, as the inseam on the vast majority of women’s jeans is just 27 to 29 inches (based on the shape and design of the pair). And, well, that’s only the case if you’re shopping for capris.
You may finish your search for the perfect pair of jeans if you are a woman of a certain height. See below for the definitive guide to jeans for all your tall pals, handpicked by yours truly. You can get anything you need, from straight-leg jeans that will become your new favorites to inexpensive denim that looks and feels more luxurious.
How to select the most appropriate jeans for your height
The bad news is that not every pair of jeans is created equal, and not every store sells lengths explicitly made for those who are 5’9″ or taller. So, what advice would you provide to a shopper in this situation? OK, think about this: The length of the inseam is crucial.
Knowing your inseam length is essential when shopping for jeans because it is typically included in the product description or size chart.
Inseam? What the heck is that? The inseam is the length of a garment from the inside of the groin to the bottom of the leg opening. You can determine yours by using a soft measuring tape to record the distance, in inches, from the area just below your groin to the base of your foot.
Measuring oneself is a challenge. You can make measuring your inseam a lot less complicated by doing this – instead of measuring yourself, get a pair of jeans that fits perfectly and that you already love.
You may determine the length of a pair of jeans by laying them straight on a table and taking a measurement from the groin down the inside of each leg. That’s it; problem solved.
Levi’s Women’s Premium Dad Jeans

A pair of dad jeans will become your new best friend if you’re a fan of straight legs but are tired of the baggy trend. Levi’s Dad Jeans are the best of both worlds, with a traditional high-rise waist and a roomy, straight-leg design for all-day comfort. Further, the inseam lengths are versatile, ranging from 30 to 32 inches.
Ksubi Playback Karma High-Rise Straight Jeans

Whenever I need a pair of jeans, I go to Ksubi for their straight legs. They have a proper “straight” fit and inseam of 32 inches, with no skintight features or kick flares.
High Waist Flare Jeans

You may find the right flare in Lee’s extensive collection, which includes inseams as long as 34 inches.
Citizens of Humanity Paloma Baggy Jeans

Tall people often need help locating oversized jeans to achieve the desired baggy style without seeming to be drowning in their pants. Citizens of Humanity crafted these skinny bbs with a narrow waistband and loose, baggy legs. They have a 32-inch inseam, so they’ll always be able to touch the floor.
Topshop Joni jeans with knee rips in black

Are you sick of your slim jeans stretching out to the point that they’re barely a good fit? Topshop’s Joni jeans come in 32- and 34-inch inseams and feature a traditional tight-fit style made comfortable by the brand’s characteristic stretch fabric. Your new go-to favorite skinny jeans are waiting for you!
ASOS DESIGN Hourglass slim mom jeans in washed black

Denim can still be quite costly, even if you’re considering something other than ultra-luxe designer pants. ASOS is the site to visit if you’re looking for affordable, high-quality denim. Their jeans range in price from roughly $30 to $50. Their regular jeans run up to an inseam of 34 inches, but their in-house Tall brand offers 36 and 38 inches for my tall friends.
Tall Mid-Rise Stovepipe Jeans in Ternhill Wash

Another fantastic retailer with some alternatives for tall women is Madewell. If you’re a woman and you measure between 5’8″ and 5’11”, you’ll want to shop in the “Tall” section; if you’re 6’0″ or taller, check out the “Taller” section. This pair is for you if you want a lower waistline but still want the comfort of jeans.
Daily Paper Mel Monogram Straight-leg Jeans

Fun printed pants are not off limits even if your inseam measures 30 inches or more. The Mel jeans by Daily Paper include a 32-inch inseam, a high-waisted, natural fit, and a soft, stretchy cotton denim fabric.
The Low Boot in Indigo Summit

This pair of bbs by FRAME is a great way to join the low-rise trend. Though they have a modest rise, the 31-inch inseam means you don’t need to sacrifice leg length.
Abercrombie & Fitch Curve Love ’90s Ultra High Rise Straight Jeans

The latest batch of jeans from this legendary label is superb. The inseam on all of their already-comfortable jeans has been increased to 32.5 inches for the new “large” version. They also have a proprietary Curve Love fit available in all of their styles. It includes up to two inches of flexibility in the thigh and hip areas for a flattering and comfortable fit.
Diesel Low-Rise Bootcut Jeans

The issue with wearing bootcut jeans as a tall person is that they tend to end at or above the ankles, giving you a high-water appearance that isn’t particularly fashionable. The legendary Y2K jeans are back; this time, they come in both 32 and 34-inch inseams from Diesel.
